Millwall Football Club's former winger Duncan Watmore has retired from football. The 32-year-old had offers to continue playing after parting ways with Rotherham United in May, but opted to join PEAK4 as Head of Elite Performance & Business Development.
What happened?
Duncan Watmore made 80 appearances for the Lions between 2023 and 2025, scoring thirteen goals and assisting three more. He joined Millwall in January 2023 after stints at Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
Why it matters for Millwall Football Club
The Lions are currently standing 3rd in Championship, 83 pts, 24W-11D-11L from 46 games, with a recent form of LDWDW, and 12 points behind leaders Coventry.
What comes next?
Watmore's retirement marks the end of his playing career, but he is excited to begin a new chapter with PEAK4, bringing the principles of elite sport into business, leadership and workforce wellbeing. As Millwall Football Club looks to the future, they will be without the services of Duncan Watmore, who has decided to hang up his boots and pursue a career in business. With 64 goals scored and 49 conceded this season, the Lions will be hoping to find a suitable replacement for the retired winger.
