Millwall Football Club have completed the signing of Indonesia international Elkan Baggott from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old centre-back becomes the Lions' fifth summer signing as they push for promotion, currently sitting 3rd in the Championship with 83 points from 46 games (24W-11D-11L).

Who is Elkan Baggott?

Baggott, who made nine appearances for Ipswich after coming through their youth system, has had loan spells at King's Lynn, Gillingham, Cheltenham Town, Bristol Rovers and Blackpool. The defender has also earned 27 caps for Indonesia and is known for his defensive prowess and aerial ability.

Why this signing matters for Millwall

Steve Gallen, Millwall's director of football, praised Baggott's potential, stating, "He's a good age, has a real appetite to improve and fits the profile we look for defensively." The signing strengthens Millwall's backline as they aim to close the 12-point gap to league leaders Coventry City.

What's next for Millwall?

With their recent form (LDWDW) and a goal difference of +15 (64 scored, 49 conceded), Millwall are well-positioned for a promotion push. Baggott's arrival adds depth to their defensive options as they prepare for the upcoming season.
