Millwall twice led but were held to a 2-2 draw away at Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, a result that keeps their unbeaten run intact. The Lions are now 13th in the Championship table with nine points from their opening six matches.
Taïryk Arconte gave the visitors an early advantage, finishing from Camiel Neghli's pass in the 11th minute. Lyndon Dykes then doubled the lead just past the half-hour mark, converting a cross from left-back Caleb Taylor for his third goal of the season. That strike makes Dykes the club's top scorer so far this campaign.
Middlesbrough fought back after the break, with Amario Cozier-Duberry pulling a goal back five minutes into the second half. The home side completed their comeback just after the hour mark when Will Lankshear headed in from Luke Ayling's delivery.
Alex Neil's side had to see out the final stages with ten men after a late red card for a Middlesbrough player, but they could not find a winning goal. The point follows a 3-1 defeat at Blackburn last weekend and moves Millwall up one place in the standings.
Neil made two changes in the second half, bringing on Elkan Baggott for Dykes and Danny Kelly for Jenson Metcalfe as he looked to manage the game. The manager said afterwards that his team deserved more from their performance given the chances they created.
Millwall now turn their attention to a tough home fixture against league leaders West Ham this Saturday.
