Millwall set to land Lisbie in £3m deal

Millwall Football Club are closing in on a deal to sign Peterborough United winger Kyrell Lisbie for an initial £3million. Sources told Football Insider the Championship side are in advanced talks to complete the move before the window shuts.

The Lions sit third in the Championship with 83 points from last season’s 46-game campaign, six wins clear of the play-offs and 12 points adrift of Coventry at the summit. Their recent form reads LDWDW as they plot a push for a first Premier League return since 1990.

Why Lisbie fits Alex Neil’s blueprint

Lisbie, 22, starred for Peterborough last term with 11 goals and seven assists despite the Posh’s struggles. He arrived from National League side Braintree Town last summer and has since become one of the third-tier’s brightest prospects.

Millwall view the winger as a player with huge upside to develop under Alex Neil. The Lions’ hierarchy believe he can add directness and creativity to a squad already built for promotion, with the Den faithful dreaming of top-flight football next season.

The total value of the transfer could rise to £6million if certain conditions are met. Peterborough have a track record of nurturing young talent and selling on, and Lisbie looks set to join the exodus.

Lisbie’s meteoric rise continues

Lisbie’s rise has been rapid since leaving Braintree. He netted 17 goals in all competitions for the Essex club in 2024-25, then hit double figures in League One last season. His form earned him a starring role under Luke Williams and now a move to the Den.

Millwall have grown increasingly close to securing promotion in recent years. With the 2026-27 campaign looming, the Lions are determined to add Lisbie’s pace and goals to their attack as they chase a first top-flight return in 36 years.

Celtic factor in Kenny pursuit

Football Insider revealed last month that Celtic will listen to offers for young striker Johnny Kenny this summer. Millwall are among the clubs monitoring the 23-year-old, who impressed on loan at Bolton last term with six goals and three assists in 14 games.

Martin O’Neill shipped Kenny out in January, and the striker is unlikely to force his way back into the first team. A permanent move now looks likely, with Millwall keeping tabs on his progress as they build for a promotion push.
