Former Millwall goalkeeper Bryan King believes that Tottenham Hotspur winger Mikey Moore could be a good signing for Millwall, given his family's connection to the club and potential benefits of playing in the Championship. Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, King opined that Moore would be a brilliant addition to the Lions' squad.
Moore is expected to leave North London this summer after spending last season on loan with Rangers. The 18-year-old has shown promise at Ibrox, being named young player of the season in Scotland despite initial struggles. However, the Scottish Premier League can be tough, and Moore might benefit from a move to the Championship.
Roberto De Zerbi, Millwall's manager, is keen on strengthening his squad this summer with more attacking signings expected. A deal for Savinho is already in the works, but Moore could also join the exodus of youth players from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, following Luka Vuskovic and Will Lankshear.
King highlighted that Moore’s family are Millwall supporters, making a return to the club an attractive option. 'He'd be a good buy for a club like Millwall in the Championship,' King said. 'His family are Millwall supporters. You know, that could be a good stepping stone for him.'
De Zerbi's comments about bringing wingers into the squad have intensified speculation around Moore’s future. The Tottenham manager stated, 'We have to analyse the last part of the transfer market, because we try to bring wingers, and then we speak with him, with his agent, with the club, to find the best solution for everyone.'
While playing time is crucial, the terms of any loan deal might also be considered in case of a future permanent move. Moore has been linked to several clubs this summer, including Borussia Dortmund on loan.
