Millwall's Zian Flemming was instrumental in Burnley's late draw against West Ham, scoring twice to salvage a point for his team. Flemming, a former Millwall player, felt that a point was the least his side deserved for their efforts during the match. The Dutchman struck twice late on to halve the deficit from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute and bundle home a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time. Burnley were otherwise more than a match for a West Ham side that finished 17 points above them in the Premier League last season, despite both teams suffering relegation to the Championship. League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 3rd in Championship, 83 pts, 24W-11D-11L from 46 games, recent form LDWDW. Goals this season: 64 scored, 49 conceded (+15 goal difference). Title race: 12 points behind leaders Coventry. Flemming spoke of his satisfaction at how Burnley stuck in there and got their just rewards. "I think we were quite good for the entire game, to be fair," he told Sky Sports. "We obviously conceded two goals which maybe shouldn’t happen, but overall I think we deserved even more than a point. If you look at the chances we had, the chances I had, I think some of them, me and the lads, we have to do better and some you just have to be a bit lucky, or at least not unlucky. To be fair, I’d rather miss a chance and be close than not get any chances at all. It gives the whole team a signal that you’re doing well and if you keep going, you can get your rewards. We showed great persistence to keep going and keep going and to still believe, even though we were 2-0 down, that we can score and stay in the game.
